Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic NDIS Support Workers from all different backgrounds with the driving licence and a car to provide support to our clients located on the North Shore and in the Eastern Suburbs.

You will be responsible for ensuring that people you are supporting have meaningful engagement with the community in all its forms and ensuring their complex needs are being met.

You will be providing direct care to the clients and performing activities including, but not limited to:

• Personal care;
• Respite (including recreational activities);
• Transporting to/from appointments and day programs;
• Cleaning/domestic assistance;
• Meal preparation;
• Shopping;
• Banking/Bill paying.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are looking for Female candidates from all different backgrounds who have:

• Extensive experience in providing direct care to people with complex needs, people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours;
• Understanding of Person-Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans;
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implication for clients;
• High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Demonstrated high level communication skills;
• Must have driver's licence, vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use for work purposes;
• Ability to work flexible hours;
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

Desirable Criteria

It is desirable, but not essential that you have:

• Education in Epilepsy Awareness;
• Relevant qualifications in Disability, Social Services or Nursing (minimum Certificate III level);
• Knowledge and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture.
